It was founded in 1888.[4] The institution offers a variety of undergraduate degrees as well as five graduate programs in counseling, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and public health. Description: Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, officially Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF), is a United States Navy shipyard covering 179 acres on Puget Sound in Bremerton, Washington. The base has been in uninterrupted use since its establishment in 1891. It is the Pacific Northwest's largest naval shore facility and one of Washington state's largest industrial installations. PSNS & IMF provides the Navy with maintenance, modernization, and technical and logistics support, and employs 15,000 people which makes it the largest public shipyard in terms of personnel assigned. Approximately 25% of the shipyard's workload involves inactivation, reactor compartment disposal, and recycling of ships.

Description: The peanut butter brand known as Sunny Jim was manufactured in Seattle, Washington by Germanus Wilhelm Firnstahl in 1921 after he moved to Seattle from Wisconsin and bought a peanut roaster. Firnstahl based the apple-cheeked character seen on the jars on his son, Lowell. By the 1950s, the brand accounted for nearly a third of all peanut butter sold in the Puget Sound area. The company was sold in 1979, though the large sign remained on the Airport Way South factory for decades after the peanut butter was no longer in production, resulting in the "Sunny Jim building" becoming a well-known landmark. In 1997, there was a fire at this plant (then owned by the city of Seattle) which destroyed the sign and a portion of the building.

Description: On February 1, 1988, Seattle area Top-40 station KNBQ flipped to an oldies format as “K-Best 97.3.” It picked up the KBSG-FM call letters. K-Best concentrated on the biggest hits of the ’60s, with some ’70s songs with a few late ’50s hits. As the station moved into the ’90s, the ’70s titles were increased and the ’50s songs were removed. In 2007, traded KBSG as part of a multi-market station swap. KBSG was rebranded from “KBSG 97.3” to “The New B97.3,” and dropped the word “oldies” from the station’s title. The station’s playlist was moved to more ’70s and ’80s music, with fewer ’60s titles, making it more of a classic rock format. Just one year later, the call letters would change again as the station went to an all news and talk format.

Description: In 1932, L.J. Skaggs opened PayLess Drug Stores in Tacoma, Washington, which soon expanded across the western United States. Some stores were sold to his brother Samuel "L.S." Olnie Skaggs, along with some colleagues. L.J. Skaggs retained California PayLess Stores, which eventually became part of Thrifty PayLess. The remaining PayLess stores were renamed Skaggs Drug Stores in 1948, and Skaggs Drug Centers in 1965. The chain grew through both acquisition and internal expansion. By 1984, PayLess Drug Stores was the largest independently owned and operated drug store chain in the United States. In 1986, there were 225 PayLess stores, and by 1990, PayLess operated in nine western states before being acquired by a larger national chain.

Description: Herfy's was a regional chain of hamburger joints throughout the Puget Sound area beginning in 1963, long before the national chains began coming to town. They were known for their signature "Herfy Burger," with secret sauce, of course, and their menu had a very unique flavor, unlike any other burger place at the time. While the food was ok, the best part is that they had a life-size fiberglass cow at each location which was a hit with the kids and would no doubt be the scene of many a selfie these days.
