Description: There may be an end of an era at Paramatown mall but you can keep that era alive with this tremendous shirt. Parmatown mall originally opened as a shopping plaza in 1956. It was enclosed by the mid-1960s. The original anchors were Higbee's and May Company. In 1967 General Cinema opened the Parmatown Theater with two screens, which was unheard of at the time. A third screen opened in the 1970s, along with two more in the 1980s. General Cinema closed the theater in 2001. Higbee's (which became Dillard's in 1992) closed in 2000. The mall was renovated in the early 2000s, which included the demolition of the old Higbee's structure which was then replaced with a Walmart in 2004. Description: Relive the glory days of the real king of Akron Ohio...Rolling Acres Mall. Rolling Acres mall opened in Akron, Ohio with Sears and 21 stores on August 6, 1975. JCPenney opened a year later as a second anchor. A new wing was added in 1977, including a third anchor store, Montgomery Ward. Further expansion in 1978 added a new two-story wing called the Promenade, which included a food court called “Prom-N-Eat” (later renamed “Picnic Place”) and local chain O’Neil’s as a fourth anchor. The mall was foreclosed in June 2016. As of October 2016, demolition of the mall had begun with full demolition on the property expected to be complete by October 2017.

Description: October 26,1966 Salem Mall in Trotwood, Ohio was Dayton's first and only all enclosed shopping center. This $10 million dollar development opened with 52 stores in operation and a Theater and the Hot Shoppes restaurant following a few weeks later. Tropical was definitely the theme in the four arcades located in the central court. This pioneer was ultimately demolished in 2006 with only the Sears building left to remain standing.

On October 8, 1956, Southdale, the first fully enclosed, climate controlled shopping mall was opened with two anchor stores and 72 shops and restaurants. Southdale is now the oldest shopping mall in the U.S and currently has only one anchor, Macy's and approximately 120 shops. It is presently a Simon Mall so definitely not as grand as it was in 1956, but still a sight to be hold.
