Description: There may be an end of an era at Paramatown mall but you can keep that era alive with this tremendous shirt. Parmatown mall originally opened as a shopping plaza in 1956. It was enclosed by the mid-1960s. The original anchors were Higbee's and May Company. In 1967 General Cinema opened the Parmatown Theater with two screens, which was unheard of at the time. Description: The modern mall was invented at Southdale. On October 8, 1956, Southdale, the first fully enclosed, climate controlled shopping mall was opened with two anchor stores and 72 shops and restaurants. Southdale is now the oldest shopping mall in the U.S and currently has only one anchor, Macy's and approximately 120 shops. It is presently a Simon Mall so definitely not as grand as it was in 1956, but still a sight to be hold.
