Description: I thought I was viewing a movie set when I came across this 60's style drive-in while exploring Prince Edward Island. Gillis' Drive In Restaurant is one of the last car hops service in Canada. It is located in the community of Montague, within the Town of Three Rivers, Kings County PEI. It had a lot of character and a great opportunity to create a story of nostalgia. Unfortunately at the time, there were a lot of modern day cars parked that didn't fit the theme of what I wanted to capture. What to do? So I returned the next day before daybreak and yes the lot was empty! However the sun coming up directly behind and silhouetting the drive-in itself! This wasn't working! I made this black and white to add to the atmosphere as this city is so colorful that the colors distract from what the photo is actually trying to portray. Description: Beach Volleyball Net At Sunset I present you with a bit of colour with this stunning sunset on a beach on the Caribbean resort of Varadero in Cuba. As the sun was setting I used the post of this volleyball net to hide the sun as it was so powerful that it would have blown all the highlights and probably the sensor on my camera.
