This Is Your Sign Socks
Description: This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger. The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us. The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy. The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited. Check out more of my art and products at https://spacedoglaika.com/
Description: Woody Guthrie wrote "This Land Is Your Land" as a protest song when he heard "God Bless America." It has two verses (and two variants of those verses) that are pretty hard hitting. The one talks about his people standing in the Relief Line waiting for food and if they knew this land was made for you and me. The other verse was about running up against a sign that said private property, "but on the back side it didn't say nothing, that side was made for you and me." Don't let them convince you this isn't your country. It's all of ours.
Description: America is a land of many immigrants. Each story is compelling. It is very personal, and some have to dig deeper into history than others. It's a story that flows through family and relations, growing as intergenerational lives weave together. Diversity makes America what it is today - a "melting pot" that is also expressed in the Latin "e pluribus unum", meaning "out of many, one." And it is this rich experience that inspires creativity and fuels innovation. This land is your land, This land is my land.
