Description: Tom Mix Flying School was opened in Aspen, Colorado back in 1971 by friends Paul Klingeman and David Schmidt. Anyone hoping to get flying lessons there was out of luck, as Tom Mix Flying School was an upscale casual clothing store, that may or may not have been named after one of Hollywood's first Western movie stars. Tom Mix as it was known by locals, was in business for over three decades, and served as an alternative to the heavily ski centric shops that were around at the time.
