The 'Admiral Benbow' is one of the oldest drinking houses in Penzance, Cornwall, UK., it has been in existence since the 17th Century. Popular too with the famous, its visitors have included Gregory Peck, the Rolling Stones and recently the lead singer from Madness. Named after the 17th century Admiral John Benbow the pub is famed for being in the opening scene of Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. The first thing one notices is the statue of a smuggler lying astride the roof, musket in hand.
