Upper Deeside Sticker

The river Dee starts as a couple of pools high on the Cairngorm plateau (well Braeriach plateau actually). I've stepped over the infant stream - a green edge ribbon across the bare gritty plateau - on one of my mountain walks. From there it drops into the deep U shaped Lairig Ghru valley, following its course South to this point at the edge of the big mountains of the Cairngorms. Beyond here it tumbles over the Linn Of Dee (about a mile away), and then settles down for a sedentary trundle through royal Deeside (passing Balmoral) and out to see at Aberdeen.
