The Drake equation is an attempt to determine the number of technological civilizations in the universe.

This Geyser is located in the Lower Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in the USA. The colourful deposits at the base of the geyser are chemosynthetic thermophile bacteria which do not require sunlight to thrive. Such Geysers are researched by scientists looking for evidence of life on other planets where chemosynthesis may occur.

What do the exoplanets of the Trappist system look like? No one knows for certain. Just because they are Earth-like doesn't mean they are anything like Earth. However, they may hold liquid water and they are so close together you can see some of the other planets in the sky, including their clouds and surface features.
