Description: After indulging in several glasses of finest emerald absinthe, Sabina finds herself longing for a call from a certain oafish lummox. However, the circumspect Marzipan has wisely and discreetly disconnected the telephone. This original collage has been constructed on a 4” x 6” x 1/2” handpainted gallery canvas of hand cut and assembled vintage images and is accented with jaqcuard satin ribbon, brass corners and a green crystal. Backed with art paper, signed and fitted with hanging hardware, this piece does not require a frame to hang. This original artwork and story are copyright 2014 Ramona Szczerba. Description: Following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, 52nd Street replaced 133rd street as “Swing Street” of the city. The blocks of 52nd Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue became renowned for the abundance of jazz clubs and lively street life. The street was convenient to musicians playing on Broadway and the ‘legitimate’ nightclubs and was also the site of a CBS studio. Musicians who played for others in the early evening played for themselves on 52nd Street.

Still striking, looking into her eyes, the depth of her immense literary knowledge is palpable. Ms. Brooks captivated connoisseurs of film, dance, and literature alike throughout her lifetime. On the Naked on My Goat blog, we discuss her self-assuredness and independence, which made her a contemplative woman of her time. She led a life most of us can only dream of. Description: A stylized vintage poster with a strong Art Deco influence. It features a portrait of a woman with pale skin and white, wavy hair that contrasts sharply with the warm, earthy tones of the background. Her facial features are simplified and elegant, with a focus on the red lips and the soft contouring of the cheeks and nose, typical of the Art Deco style. Behind her, there are abstract floral designs and geometric shapes in shades of red, orange, and black, evoking a sense of sophistication and the bold aesthetic of the early 20th century. The word "FASHION" is written at the bottom in a stylized font that complements the era's design sensibilities.
