The Hotel Last Frontier opened on October 30, 1942. It was the second hotel-casino resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip.The motel was mostly two stories, with some rooms on a third floor. It included 105 rooms at its opening, and an additional 100 would be added later. The property included a casino, a Western-themed Last Frontier Village, authentic Old West buildings, the Gay Nineties Bar, The Little Church of the West and the El Corral Arena, used for rodeo events. The village also featured a Texaco gas station designed by Zick & Sharp. The Silver Slipper casino was added to the village in 1950. Eventually the resort evolved into the New Frontier and then later simply the Frontier. Businessman Howard Hughes bought out the group in 1967

Adjoining Wilbur Clark's Desert Inn Hotel & Country Club, named after the famous French resort, was one of the more glamorous of Las Vegas' Motels Opened 7/3/58 on Desert Inn. Demolished 1/6/94 for the widening of Desert Inn Rd. 71 large, elegantly furnished units with dressing rooms, queen size beds and large family units fit for a king, at low prices to suit every man's purse, plus refrigerated air-conditioning and a heated swimming pool. Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino (named after New Orleans' Bourbon Street) was a small hotel and casino near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Opening in 1980 as the Shenandoah Hotel, the property was plagued with licensing and financial difficulties from the start. Ownership changed hands several times, with new proprietors often envisioning major renovations or redevelopment, but none of the plans came to fruition. Finally, in 2005, it was bought by Harrah's Entertainment (later Caesars Entertainment), who closed and demolished it.

Barbary Coast was a hotel and casino located between the Flamingo and Bally's on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel was owned by Boyd Gaming and was built by Michael Gaughan in 1979. The hotel was closed to be renamed to Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon. The Barbary Coast was home of Drai's After Hours, a restaurant nightclub that is still open to this day.

This original design is inspired by the glyphs found in Utah’s Nine Mile Canyon. The glyphs are etched into pink and orange sandstone cliffs and were created by the Fremont and Ute peoples between A.D. 600 and 1300.

The Desert Inn, also known as the D.I., was a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, which operated from April 24, 1950, to August 28, 2000 it was the fifth resort to open on the Strip The closure of the Desert Inn in 2000 and subsequent demolition was unpopular with many as it seemed to mark the end of old Las Vegas. Historian Michael Green stated: "To a lot of people outside of Las Vegas, these two places (the Desert Inn and the Sands) really meant Las Vegas. These were the places that represent the images of Las Vegas, in a far greater way than the Dunes, the Aladdin, the Hacienda and the Landmark

The Par-a-Dice opened in 1953, back when Fremont and Boulder Hwy were lined with motels like these. There are a few left. After Par-a-Dice was demo'ed the only thing left was a sign by the road, which dates to the late 50s.

The Orbit Inn launched on Fremont and 7th Streets in 1963. It was the home of not one but two Space Age signs. The first featured a rocket and a globe encircled by orbit trails. Author Tom Wolfe cited it as an example of Las Vegas’s unrestrained “Late American Rich” style. The rocket portion of the sign was replaced by a more functional “Motel” element in the 1960s. Sadly, the motel is best remembered for a tragic explosion on the morning of January 7, 1967, when an Army deserter killed himself and five others by shooting a pistol into a stack of dynamite. The Orbit Inn closed in 1987. Today, the site is the location of the Downtown Container Park.

Las Vegas Club was a hotel and casino located on the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Las Vegas Club opened in 1930, joining the Las Vegas Hotel which had opened in 1908. The Las Vegas Club was relocated across the street in 1949. At its new location, the Las Vegas Club operated within the Overland Hotel, which was established in 1905.

The resort included a 31-floor tower, inspired by the design of the Space Needle tower in Seattle. Frank Caroll, the project's original owner, purchased the property in 1961. Billionaire Howard Hughes, through Hughes Tool Company, purchased the Landmark in 1969

he El Morocco started out as a bar with slot machines on the West side of Las Vegas; when it opened in 1945 it was one of the few places where African-Americans could go to gamble in Las Vegas. This was a time when African-Americans were not allowed inside of the casinos in downtown Las Vegas or on the nascent strip. the El Morocco stood out as one club that although its history was brief was not totally forgotten by the passage of time.

The Fremont Dragstrip was a racing venue for dragster automobiles that was located in Fremont, California in the San Francisco Bay Area, operating from 1959 until the end of 1988. In its final years, it was renamed Baylands Raceway Park. The site lies in the quadrant just south of the intersection of Interstate 880 and Auto Mall Parkway. The track was constructed on land leased from the Southern Pacific Railroad, which had acquired the land from the U.S. Navy after World War II. The Army had constructed a small airfield on the site just prior to the war, which was subsequently taken over by the Navy during the war (Naval Outlying Landing Field Heath). Stupak initially opened a small casino, Bob Stupak's World Famous Million-Dollar Historic Gambling Museum and Casino, on the property in 1974, but it was destroyed in a fire later that year.
