Inspired by a scene in the movie Jaws, when Police Chief Brody reads up on great white sharks.

During a trip to my home town of Port Hardy BC on Vancouver island, i made time to do several plien air paintings (painting outside). This beach is in the main village next to the first nations reserve. Capturing home in paint was like taking a photograph but better, it was like I was capturing the essence of a place and its ever changing tides.

If you've ever been to Island Beach State Park you know one of the best things about it is getting to see the locals. I'm talking about the real locals of course - the foxes! Whether they're hanging around, hamming it up for a photo shoot or chilling in the dunes looking for some fries to steal off a beach blanket, they're always a joy to see.
