Freezing fog lifts at the end of a January day

This panoramic view can be found at the Northern end of the Roaches, on the edge of the Peak District national park in England. I was on one of my multi day walks, and had taken a train to Macclesfield to climb some outlying peaks before reaching the gritstone ridge of the Roaches. Just to the South they form quite a barrier of rugged eroded shapes, but at this end they are breached by a road before tailing off into farmland. Just to the right there are woods, and somewhere hidden away is a little rock gorge know as Ludds church - so called as it became a place to pray away from persecution. The following day I crossed moorland to reach the town of Buxton. Painted in oil on a 20x8 inch board
