Set in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the 1950s and ’60s, Happy Days presented an idealized view of post-war middle-class America, seen largely through the perspective of high school student Ritchie Cunningham and his pal Potsie. The boys fraternized with the crowd at Arnold’s Malt Shop. Although Ritchie was the show’s protagonist, the most indelible character was Arthur Fonzarelli, known as “Fonzie”or simply "The Fonz." His greaser style and love for motorcycles clashed with the show’s cast of wholesome, all-American characters, but under his leather jacket, Fonzie had a heart of gold. The show ran from January 15, 1974 to September 24, 1984 with a total of 255 half-hour episodes spanning eleven seasons.
