Yellow Utah Hills, Blue Sky T-Shirt

We were on the Rocky Mountaineer on the second day of a journey from Denver to Moab. While I can't be certain, I think this image was captured between Thompson Springs and Cisco in Utah. The railway line roughly parallels the course of the I70 in that part of Utah. I was really struck by the yellow hills to the north; hills that had been sculpted by the elements over millions of years. The yellow of the hills stood in stark contrast to the deep blue of the sky. It was quite a visual treat. Despite the harsh, austere look of the hills, they were remarkably colourful, Although predominately yellow, there were shades of blue and even a bit of green where plant life had taken root. A stunning landscape.
