Description: The 1916 Easter Rising was one of Irelands most important events. Though it failed to overthrow British rule it laid the groundwork for eventual independence. The Proclamation read by Padraig Pearse on the steps of the GPO was one of the 20th centuries most forward thinking and progressive documents. This design celebrates the Proclamation by showing the opening paragraph under the 1916 in the colours of the Irish Flag.
