A front-engine, rear-wheel drive mid-level model based on the 924 platform, the 944 was available in coupé or cabriolet body styles, with either naturally aspirated or turbocharged engines. Description: a subtle tribute to Porsche’s front-engine sports car legacy. From the 924 and 944 to the 968 and 928, these distinctive cars brought a different approach to Porsche performance, pairing a front-mounted engine with a rear transaxle for balanced handling. Rendered in flowing Carrera-inspired script with black, red, and gold stripes inspired by the German flag, this minimalist design celebrates classic Porsche engineering and the analog sports cars that earned a dedicated following.
Description: The Porsche 968 is a sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porsche AG from 1991 to 1995. It was the final evolution of a series of water-cooled front-engine rear wheel drive models begun almost 20 years earlier with the 924, taking over the entry-level position in the company lineup from the 944 with which it shared about 20% of its parts. The 968 was Porsche's last new front-engined vehicle before the introduction of the Cayenne SUV in 2003.
