Two Konik Stallions. The Konik is a small horse, originated from Poland. Nowadays, semi-wild herds of koniks can be seen in many nature reserves and parks. Another great colour photo featuring a small insight into a sailors life and the nose of a fairey gannet on board the Royal Navy's aircraft carrier HMS Hermes in the 1960s. This is one of many photo's that were taken by my father whilst he served on HMS Hermes in the 1960s.

Painted from a reference photo I took while sailing off the coast of Mexico. The glassy surface of the water shows a little disturbance from the boat passing through.

Two groups of Victorian friends take a break from their afternoon stroll in order to chat. Something a wee bit different, with me here using classical painted and drawn art to form the scene, rather than basing it on photographic images.

I painted Discovery because of its historic significance to Scott of The Antarctic, It shows Discovery on the banks of The River Thames, London, with St Pauls Cathedral and Blackfriers Bridge in the background. It's sunrise and the sky is yellow turning to blue on a summers day. The plain trees on the Embankment are in full bloom. About the history of the ship Discovery. Purchased by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1905 and converted for use as a merchant. Laid up from 1912 - 1915 during WWI. From 1915 - 1920 traded under charter in European waters from Archangel in Arctic Russia to the Black Sea. She was loaned in 1916 to the British Government to rescue Shackleton's party marooned on Elephant Island, but they were rescued before she ar...

Happy I painted this hydrangea bush, because it is not there anymore. We still have lots in other places in the garden. It seems to be a wise old plant.

The last of my latest series of watercolours of Granada in Summer. This narrow, cobbled street runs from the Plaza Nueva alongside the river Darro beneath the old Moorish quarter, the Albaicin. The street is lined with lovely old buildings which are great to paint and provide many interesting compositions. The original painting is for sale. This painting was done from a photograph taken by Amanda who also planted the garden that these snapdragons are in. She was interested in capturing the fly because it kept flying in and out of the snap dragon blooms. I thought this was cool, and I had never Painted a fly before.
