Came across these commercial fishing huts and lobster traps during my travels of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Love the early morning tones of this image. This is in Montague located within the town of Three Rivers in Kings County, PEI. The port is a base for commercial lobster fishing. There are two lobster seasons on PEI. Entanglement in fishing gear is the leading threat for whales and dolphins around the globe – estimated to cause at least 300,000 deaths per year.

ANCHORAGE ALASKA FISHING

Bryde's whales feed on a wide variety of fish, planktonic crustaceans, and cephalopods. Prey differs by location and season. In the Gulf of Siam, there is a fight for whoever can catch the anchovy. Small birds such as the tern dive bomb at the anchovies being scooped up by the large bryde's whales in the area... Competition for space although limited is still prevalent between the Whales and the fishing population of Thailand.
