Description: Field Marshal Dedan Kimathi on a vintage Kenya postage stamp. He led the Kenya Land and Freedom Army (Mau Mau) in the fight against British colonial rule in the 1950s. The design has a red perforated stamp border with Kenya flags, a red "KENYA" header, a green name caption, a halftone portrait in a dashiki, and a Kenya flag fingerprint. Dedan Kimathi was born in Nyeri on 31 October 1920. As the senior military leader of the Kenya Land and Freedom Army, he convened a war council in 1953 and helped give the movement a formal command structure. He was captured in 1956 and executed on 18 February 1957. Kenya now honors him as a national hero of the struggle for land and freedom.
Description: A tribute to two of Kenya's most courageous sons — Dedan Kimathi and Musa Mwariama, commanders of the Mau Mau resistance movement that fought British colonial rule and paved the way for Kenyan independence in 1963. This original stained glass–style art presents them as the icons they truly are — draped in military honors, framed in Gothic arches, and bathed in the red, black, and green of Pan-African pride. Whether you're passionate about African history, Black liberation, or powerful visual storytelling, this design speaks volumes.
Description: Honor Field Marshal Muthoni wa Kirima (1931–2023), the only woman to hold the rank of Field Marshal in the Kenya Land and Freedom Army (Mau Mau), with this Kenya vintage postage stamp design. The artwork shows a halftone portrait of Kirima in a red beret and long dreadlocks, framed by a perforated border of Kenyan flags. It has a “KENYA” header, her name in bold green lettering and a Kenya flag fingerprint. Kirima joined the Mau Mau fighters in the forest in the early 1950s, earned the respect of Dedan Kimathi, and became a symbol of women’s courage in Kenya’s fight against colonial rule. A good fit for Kenyan pride, African history, Pan-African style and women’s history. Gift it for Mashujaa Day, Jamhuri Day, Black History Month or Wome
