District 9 T-Shirts
Description: Nestled deep in District 9 is a hard to find little spot that serves some of the best craft beer in Johannesburg. The only problem is that you and I can't go. Johnathan Foley, the owner of The Picked Prawn has a strict "Prawns Only" policy. Which is a shame because no one else in town is slinging beer quite this tasty. I had the pleasure of trying Johnathon's beer. I friend of mine smuggled a Growler of their Hazy IPA out of District 9. And it was out of this world! Hopefully in the coming years, The Pickled Prawn will loosen it's policy and allow us to partake in their delcious craft beer.
Description: District 9 is a 2009 science fiction mockumentary film directed by Neill Blomkamp in his feature film debut, written by Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell, and produced by Peter Jackson and Carolynne Cunningham. It is a co-production of New Zealand, the United States, and South Africa. The film stars Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope, and David James, and was adapted from Blomkamp's 2006 short film Alive in Joburg. Description: I really like how this came out! I loved District 9 and am very excited to see Chappie in theaters. I’m a little worried cause the reviews weren’t awesome but this movie is so up my alley I think I’ll still adore it! Thanks for looking!
Description: The film is partially presented in a found footage format by featuring fictional interviews, news footage, and video from surveillance cameras. The story, which explores themes of humanity, xenophobia and social segregation, begins in an alternate 1982, when an alien spaceship appears over Johannesburg, South Africa. When a population of sick and malnourished insectoid aliens is discovered on the ship, the South African government confines them to an internment camp called District 9.
