Walking along the Thames Path, a designated long distance National trail. This scene is at Lechlade on the section of the path between Halfpenny Bridge and St John's Lock the first (or last) on the Thames. Here moored boats are visited by inquisitive cattle! Lechlade, a picturesque market town at the southern end of the Cotswolds marks the highest navigable pont on the river. Above here it soon becomes narrower and shallower - no place for river boats!!

Chipping Campden, Cotswold District of Gloucestershire Chipping Campden is one of the loveliest small towns in the Cotswolds and a gilded masterpiece of limestone and craftsmanship. The main street curves in a shallow arc lined with a succession of ancient houses each grafted to the next but each with its own distinctive embellishments. The Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin at Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. There had apparently been a place of worship here fron the C7th but it was a Norman, Robert FitzHarmon who founded this abbey. Building started in 1102 and it was consecrated in 1121, housing a community of Benedictine monks.After the Dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII it became the parish church.
