Description: Larry Flynt was a self-made millionaire that built an empire on adult entertainment. From his first strip club in Dayton, Ohio, to his explicit adult magazines that rocked the industry, Flynt was known for pushing the envelope in everything he did. Flynt fought several high-profile legal battles involving the First Amendment, and was paralyzed from the waist down from a 1978 assassination attempt. He was notoriously liberal, and frequently attacking conservative politicians and their values, so he threw his hat into the ring in the 1984 presidential elections, running as a Republican.
