Photographed with a Canon 400D. The beautiful Purling Brook Falls in the Springbrook National Park just west of the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. A 4 km track takes you to the bottom of the falls for great views up the cliff & you can walk under the falls if you don't mind getting a bit wet. You can see the walking track at the bottom left of this image. The day started out a little cloudy but quickly turned sunny so I didn't manage to get any good shots from down the bottom but it was a beautiful walk nonetheless. Paris, France. This beautiful arch stands between The Louvre & the Tuileries Garden in Paris, France. The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (firmly anchored to the tradition of the ancient triumphal arches) was built by Percier and Fontaine in circa 1806 to 1808 to celebrate the Napoleonic victories of 1805, and it was originally intended as a monumental entrance to the Tuileries palace. When that palace was destroyed by fire in 1871, it was generally agreed that the arch stood well on its own; nor was the palace greatly missed in that an exceptional view of the Champs-Elysées had been opened up. The proportions of the arch were directly drawn from those of the Arch of Septimius Severus in Rome.

After a fairly dry spell in the area, the waterfalls are lacking their usual flow. This waterfall at Lawson still put on a good display. Will have to get back after some rain. Found in the Royal National Park, south of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Both times I needed to plant a hand in the mud to stop myself falling & picked up some mud that was almost as orange as my shirt & more orange than my hair ! I love the contrast of dark rock & artistically splashing white water. My first upload to Redbubble with the new Canon 5D MkIII & what better subject than the beautiful Somersby Falls. This one was taken on the steepish rock steps leading to the falls. There is a track leading to the main falls but getting to this one requires a bit of rock hopping & slow & steady stepping over slippery sections. This is Sylvia Falls on the National Pass walking track in the Blue Mountains National Park, New South Wales, Australia. This great walk starts at the Valley of the Waters & finishes at Wentworth Falls where you climb a steep cliff to the top. In my view this is one of the best walks/climbs in the Blue Mtns. I love the golden orange soil & rocks in this section of the Blue Mountains at Lawson. Federal Falls is one of the more accessible waterfalls falling into a sandy area so that you can capture it from lots of different angles. There are wooden steps that lead to the main waterfall but to get to this spot the track is less defined with the occasional stone steps.
