Description: Sacred geometry from the heart of Renaissance magic. In 1564 John Dee, astrologer to Queen Elizabeth I, constructed a single glyph with compass and ruler and claimed it held the secrets of alchemy, astronomy and mathematics: moon, sun, cross and the horns of Aries, bound into one sign. Here the Monas is shown with its full geometric scaffolding, the hidden circles and axes it was built from. Above and below, the warning from the original title page: "Let him who does not understand either be silent or learn."
