Ovenbird T-Shirts
Description: Louis Agassiz Fuertes' 1919 Oven Bird from "Melody the Wood Thrush, Teacher the Oven Bird." Surprisingly, ovenbirds are a type of warbler, and not a type of ovenbird! They are known as Ovenbirds because they make a domed ground nest that sort of looks like an oven.
Description: This design is inspired by the real life ovenbird native to North America. I found one while bird banding! "Ovenbirds breed in closed-canopy forests, particularly deciduous and mixed deciduous-coniferous woods. You may find them in most forest types, from rich oak or maple woods to dry pine forest, although they avoid wet or swampy areas." (Allaboutbirds)The artwork features an anthropomorphic oven bird, donned in red and white polka-dot oven mitts and a cozy yellow apron with a heart on the belly. This whimsical character is holding a pan of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, radiating a warm and inviting baking spirit that adds charm and delight to the scene.
