Pont Neuf T-Shirts

Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris. It is situated on the western side of the Île de la Cité, which is the island in the middle of the river, the birthplace of Paris, and, during the medieval period, the heart of the city. The bridge is composed of two separate spans, one of 5 arches joining the left bank to the Île de la Cité, another of 7 arches joining the island to the right bank. All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software. The beautiful Pont Neuf (New Bridge) was just a stone's throw from our apartment in Paris & this was my first outside photo of Paris! It was the first bridge built across the Seine River with building beginning in 1578. The Equestrian Statue of King Henri IV is a bronze statue located on the Ile de la Cite close to Pont Neuf (one of the most famous and the oldest bridge in Paris, named by King Henri IV himself as "New Bridge" as it was the very first one constructed without houses). This statue is actually a replica of the original dating fback rom the 1600s, however, this particular statue was put in place in 1818 and is one of the many monuments in Paris that you can discover today. It is classified as a historical monument in Paris.
