Two Little Maids from Poole Number of views as of 22nd January 2018 = 460. 'Maid of Poole' and 'Maid of the Harbour', two pleasure craft moored up on Poole Quay (Dorset, England) for the evening. These vessels are heavily used especially during the summer months for tours around the harbour and trips to Brownsea Island. Date: 19th August 2012.

The Old Lifeboat Station, Poole, Dorset, England Number of views as of 7th September 2018 = 280. Established in 1882 and replacing an older building at Sandbanks, Poole's old lifeboat station at Fisherman's Dock saw 92 years of active service before being converted into a museum. Key events in the station's history: In October 1884, James Hughes, a member of the lifeboat crew, fell in front of the main wheels of the carriage whilst getting out of the lifeboat after an exercise, and was killed. In 1897, a slipway was constructed at a cost of £135. In January 1919, rescued 21 Japanese crew members of an ex-German submarine. In May 1940, the Poole lifeboat Thomas Kirkwright took part in the evacuation of British forces at Dunkirk and was th...

Pier, Poole Bay & Purbecks, October 2020 A shot of Bournemouth pier, taken from the East Cliff, with Poole Bay beyond and the hills of the Isle of Purbeck in the distance. Note the absence of people on the beach. At times during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, the beaches were packed. Now, the beaches are almost deserted, yet cases in the area are on the increase. Any scientists who can explain that one, please do! Date: 15th October 2020. Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, England.

Poole Almshouses, August 2020 St. George's Almhouses in Church Street, Old Town, Poole (Dorset, England). The plaque on the wall (erected in 1904) reads: "These almshouses first built in the time of Henry V and long the property of St George's Guild passed to the crown in 1547 and were purchased for the corporation in 1550. They have been devoted to the use of the poor for 500 years." Date: 20th August 2020.

Old Lifeboat Station, Poole, November 2022 The old lifeboat station on Poole Quay (Dorset, England) housed the town's lifeboat from 1882 to 1974, and is now a museum. The new station is situated on the western end of the quay near the lifting bridge. Poole is also home to the RNLI college where crews and lifeguards from around the UK and Ireland are trained. Date: 11th November 2022.

Sandbanks Beach, Poole, Dorset A small stretch of beach on the Sandbanks peninsula, Poole, Dorset, England. Per square metre, Sandbanks is reputed to have the fourth highest land value in the world. Unfortunately, rampant redevelopment and virtually non-existent urban planning have not improved the area, and it is worth avoiding in summer, when parking is a nightmare. Date: 24th February 2018.
