Description: Seattle Slew was a champion American thoroughbred racehorse who became the tenth winner of the American Triple Crown, and one of only two horses to have won it while being undefeated in any previous race. Slew was foaled February 15, 1974 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was considered awkward and not particularly handsome as a foal, with some saying he looked like a mule and lacked promise. As he matured, Slew developed a graceful front-running style with an acceleration that was compared to a falcon in a dive, and then he was off to the races. Literally. Seattle Slew would become a champion at ages two, three, and four and be named Horse of the Year after securing the Triple Crown in 1977.
