South Los Angeles is a region of Los Angeles County. There is no set definition but most include independent cities like Compton and Inglewood. It is divided, by many locals, into east and west sides.

Westside

West Adams, historically, refers to a sub-region of Los Angeles centered along West Adams Boulevard. Today, it also refers to a newer neighborhood of South Los Angeles, also bisected by West Adams. Thus, this map is distinguished as "Historic West Adams."

Leimert Park was created by Walter H. Leimert as a whites-only neighborhood in 1928. However, it has long been a significant cultural hub of Los Angeles's black community.

Morningside Circle is a neighborhood in South Los Angeles's Westside. It was the first neighborhood I explored for my series, "California Fool's Gold," after turning over the decision on where to explore to the public. I did so in 2008. https://ericbrightwell.com/2008/09/25/morningside-circle/

Manchester Square is a neighborhood in South Los Angeles's Westside. It was home of the notorious Monster Cody and Grim Sleeper. On a lighter note, it's also home to Art's Chili Dog, established in 1939 and said by some to be the birthplace of the chili dog.

westside california design typically refers to the region of the United States located along the western seaboard, including states such as California, Oregon, and Washington. It's known for its diverse landscapes, ranging from rugged coastlines and sandy beaches to towering mountains and dense forests. The West Coast is also associated with a laid-back lifestyle, progressive culture, and thriving industries such as technology, entertainment, and outdoor recreation.

Venice is a Westside neighborhood founded in 1905 as a seaside resort town. It was later associated with Beatniks, hippies, and other bohemians. Palms is one of the most culturally interesting neighborhoods on Los Angeles's Westside. It's home to Simpang Asia, the Museum of Jurassic Technology, and the Center for Land Use Interpretation.
