King David I of Scotland granted a charter for the establishment of the church in 1138. The church was built on the site of an older church and was consecrated in 1242. Following a fire in 1424, most of the present building dates from the mid 15th century, with extensive restorations in the 19th century. Parts of the Church of St Michael were brought into use as they were completed, and the church was completed in 1540. Built immediately to the south of Linlithgow Palace, the church was much favoured as a place of worship by Scottish Kings and Queens. Mary, Queen of Scots, was born in Linlithgow Palace on 8 December 1542 and was baptised in St Michael’s Church.

St Michael's, Mere Number of views as of 10th March 2017 = 310. Mere is a small town in Wiltshire, close to the borders of Somerset and Dorset. Viewed from the summit of Castle Hill looking south towards Shaftesbury, the 15th century parish church of St Michael the Archangel dominates the landscape. Castle Hill was the site of a relatively large castle, built in the mid-13th century by the lord of the manor, Richard, Earl of Cornwall. The castle fell into disrepair in the 15th century and its stone is said to have been used to build local houses. Hope you like the view, thanks for looking! Date: 25th October 2009.

Christmas greeting card of the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Shropshire England. Early one Spring Sunday Morning I looked out to find snow on the ground. After taking a few shots from the window I realised I should be a mile away at The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, the first bridge successfully made of iron and now recorded as the Birth of The Industrial Revolution. I emailed copies to the local TV and Newspaper, they both selected the same image now entitled Ironbridge in Spring Snow. I had a canvas printed by a local printer who said, he had a number of inquiries and offered to display it for sale and sell canvas prints. This experience started my interest in sharing my hobby and efforts.

The World Heritage Site of the birth of the Industrial Revolution. The bridge was constructed by the Industrialist Abraham Darby from Cast Iron Sections the first successful Iron structure in the World.

The magnificent Town House in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland. Built in 1668-70 to replace the original Tolbooth, demolished on the orders of Oliver Cromwell. Altered over the years, it now accommodates the Burgh Halls (including the Council Chamber of the former Linlithgow Town Council) and the local Visitor Awareness Centre. Incidently, Linlithgow is the town where I was born. I lived there until I married. When I was much younger, my friends and I would go to the “Dancing” in the Town House on a Saturday night.
