Whilst I have thousands of recent photos still to process, I decided to go back through the archives for some neglected ones. The hike from the top of the Saddle Chairlift to the summit of Treble Cone in the South Island of New Zealand is not all that easy. This is another one I rediscovered going through the archives. It is at Treble Cone, new Zealand on 9 August, 2012. The top runs are entirely above the clouds that may extend to low down on the mountain. Canon EOS 550D, ISO 200, f/14, 1/200 sec, 46 mm

I have numerous photos of the summit rocks at Treble Cone, New Zealand South Island. This one was taken with a circular polarised filter which gave it a very dark sky so I decided to convert to B&W and using a red filter makes the sky completely black.I also applied NIK viveza and piccure+ to bring out the structure in the snow. This is one of two waterfalls near the entrance road to Treble Cone, near Wanaka on New Zealand South Island. I have not been able to find if they have a particular name. I guess this is an image for all you fellow skiing tragics! It was a bluebird day at the top of Treble Cone, near Wanaka, New Zealand. And there were a few centimetres of fresh powder overnight that covered the summit rocks and provided an excellent topping to the base. Some intrepid snowboarders walked up there to put down first tracks. And it is quite a walk from the top of the saddle chairlift to the summit. I did it shortly after I took this photo. Best part of half hour trudging through deep snow carrying skis just for about 60 seconds of downhill in the fresh untracked powder is surely total madness. There are numerous waterfalls along the Wanaka to Mt Aspiring Road in new Zealand South Island. They are mostly narrow ribbon falls, some only appear after heavy rain.
