Description: The TRS-80 Micro Computer System (TRS-80, colloquially known as the "Trash-80", later renamed the TRS-80 Model I to distinguish it from its successors) is a desktop microcomputer developed by American company Tandy Corporation and sold through their Radio Shack stores. Launched in 1977, it is one of the earliest mass-produced and mass-marketed retail home computers.
Description: After finding that computer game publishers were not interested in his first game, war game enthusiast Joel Billings launched his own company to publish and distribute his computer titles in 1979. Calling his new venture Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI), it didn't take long before Billings' company was the dominant force in computer war games. Throughout the '80s and into the early 1990s, SSI was holding its own against the publishers that once turned down Billings' games. The mid-'80s saw SSI began licensing properties to be used as new computer war game titles. SSI was acquired in 1994, spent time as part of a toy company, and finally became part of a larger game house that ended up by retiring the brand name a few years later.
Description: The Matra & Hachette Ordinateur Alice is a home computer sold in France beginning in 1983. It was a clone of the TRS-80 MC-10, produced through a collaboration between Matra and Hachette in France and Tandy Corporation in the United States.
