The 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, is trapped in his confession dial, moments after watching his best friend Clara Oswald die. Scared, alone and slowly stalked by a creature from his own nightmares, in order to escape, he must punch through an Azbanthium wall for 4.5 billion years.

The 12th Doctor

The 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, is back on Gallifrey, the long way round, and on the war path against Rassilon. While not the biggest fan of how this episode went down, the first 15 minutes or so are brilliant. "Who the hell does he think he is?"

Everybody just stopped. Everyone was just kind." The 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi), with The 1st Doctor (David Bradley) as they view the 1914 Christmas Armistice. Seeing his future self save both the lives of the Captain and German soldier, along with the Armistice is what finally convinces the 1st Doctor to carry on and regenerate, while the 12th Doctor still needs a bit more convincing.

Rigsy is a character loosely based on Banksy, the famous anonymous graffiti artist. After Clara died in the Season 9 episode, Face the Raven, one of the final scenes was Rigsy walking away from this floral tribute to Clara on the abandoned Tardis, which had been left behind when the Doctor was teleported against his will. The second I saw it, I knew I was going to paint it...because I had to have it on my wall. Now you can have it on your wall.

We all loved Peter Capaldi's salty yet sweet 12th doctor. Remember his famous catch phrase here.

This was a great scene in Season 9 of Doctor Who when we finally learned why the Doctor has the face of a person he saved long ago. (Peter Capaldi first appeared in Doctor Who in Season 4 during the Fires of Pompeii.) Later in that episode, the Doctor says something that I found particularly apt: "But you see, that's the trouble with viewing reality through technology - it's all too easy to feed in a new reality." I've watched 'The Girl Who Died' a half dozen times in the week after it aired, which isn't unusual for me after every new episode.
