Vanoise National Park The Vanoise National Park (or Parc National de la Vanoise) was established in 1963 and was the first French national park. It is in the departement of Savoie and lies between the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys in the French Alps. It is home to various species of mammal including the ibex, chamois, marmot, lynx, wolf, badger, weasel and mountain hare. This shot was taken on the outskirts of the Park near the Refuge du Rosuel. I believe the snow-clad peak top left is Mont Pourri, at 3779 metres (12398 feet), one of the alpine three-thousanders, mountains between 3000m and 4000m tall in the Swiss, Italian, Austrian and French Alps. Bellecote The Bellecote is a mountain in the Vanoise Massif in the Graian Alps in France. It is in the northern part of the Vanoise National Park, and at 3417 metres (11,211 feet) dominates the valley around Peisey-Nancroix below. The conical peak top left is L'Aliet (3109 metres) Date: 17th August 2016.

Rocky Mountain High Clouds swirl around the summit of Mont Pourri, at 3779 metres above sea level. Mont Pourri is one of the mountains which form the Vanoise Massif (Vanoise National Park, French Alps). Taken from the neighbouring summit of Aiguille Rouge, a mere 3226 metres, but more easily accessible via a series of cable cars from Les Arcs. Date: 21st August 2016.
