Yamato T-Shirts
Description: IJN Yamato (大和/ヤマト) was the lead ship of her class of battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) shortly before World War II. Named after the ancient Japanese Yamato Province, Yamato was designed to counter the numerically superior battleship fleet of the United States, Japan’s main rival in the Pacific. She and her sister ship, Musashi, were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever constructed in history, displacing 72,800 tonnes at full load and armed with nine 18.1 inch Type 94 main guns, which were the largest guns ever mounted on a warship.
Description: 大和魂 “Yamato Damashii” meaning “Japanese Spirit”, it is a Japanese term that refers to the cultural values and characteristics of the Japanese people. Edo period writers and samurai used it to augment and support the Bushido concept of honor and valor. Japanese nationalists propagandized Yamato damashii – “the brave, daring, and indomitable spirit of Japanese people” – as one of the key Japanese military-political doctrines in the Showa period.

Description: Yamato is the son of Kaidou. Born as Kaidou's daughter and groomed from a young age to be his heir, Yamato instead developed a profound admiration for the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden. After his death, Yamato chose to become just like Oden, impersonating him and adopting his mannerisms. As a result of this desire to emulate Oden, Yamato decided to become a man and identify as Kaidou's son, and Kaidou and his crew refer to him as such as well.[5]
Description: Space Battleship Yamato was the title spaceship from the anime series Space Battleship Yamato, designed by Leiji Matsumoto in the 1970s. According to the fictional continuity of the anime series, the spacecraft was built inside the remains of the Japanese battleship Yamato. In the American dub of the series Star Blazers, the spaceship has the same origin, but was renamed the Argo (after the mythical ship Argo of Jason and the Argonauts). In Spanish-speaking countries, its name was changed to Intrépido ("Intrepid").
