This is my original artwork of two yellow-rumped warblers (also known as "butter butts') joining a magnolia warbler for a meeting of the spring warbler tree club in Georgia. Warblers come in many varieties, are a favorite among backyard birding enthusiasts and are known for their cheerful singing.

Yellow-rumped Warbler at Water Spout by Debra Martz While hiking a few trails at Goose Island State Park in south Texas, I crossed a paved road and noticed a few picnic tables...good time for a break. But the best part was when I neared those tables, I realized there was a watering and feeding station for birds. Shortly after sitting down, in flew this migratory Yellow-rumped Warbler. When I saw this as a larger image on my computer screen I felt it looked like a painting, therefore I added a dry brush painterly effect.

Yellow-Rumped Warbler by Debra Martz ........................... On a beautiful January day at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas, I followed this warbler with my lens for sometime. Just as I was about to give up on getting a capture it landed right in front of me, pulled off a berry, gave me a quick glance and it was off again. Yellow-Rumped Warbler

Anticipating the Next Flying Insect by Debra Martz On January 6th the weather was beautiful so decided to take a quick trip over to Port Aransas, TX to see if any birds were around. There were not too many winter migratory birds with the exception of plenty Yellow-rumped Warblers and a few other species. These warblers were quite busy zipping off the branches and out to midair to capture flying insects. Here at Paradise Pond, where it is usually busy with birds, it is not so much now as most of the trees came down with Hurricane Harvery in August 2017.
