The design was a finalist in the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) competition, two prototypes were built for the demonstration and further validation phase,this beauty and The YF-22,who would win said competition and become the F-22 “Raptor”, in the end the YF-23 never got the chance to fight.
