On 28th March the Pavilion was destroyed in an arson attack, and then on 11th May the Concert Hall, already seriously damaged in a huge storm the previous December, was also deliberately set on fire. New Brighton sea side

On a bright sunny day back in June...and of course the obligatory bike got in the way :)

An "oldie but goodie" from my 35 mm slide collection, fishing on a seafront groin in Brighton with the old West Pier in the background sometime before it was destroyed by fire. Brighton, East Sussex, UK

It will be a sad day when the West Pier is finally claimed by the sea. In the meantime, it was a beautiful sunny day when I sat on the beach to take this and there were hardly any people around....bliss!
