Damselflies Tank Tops

The Odonata (dragonflies, darters and damselflies) are incapable of supporting body weight using the sum of their four wings' maximal aerodynamic force coefficients under steady-state conditions... and so as such grasses provide them with a valid excuse for a pit stop!

All damselflies enjoy spending their time on the wing and on the support structure of grasses. Think twice before picking up the strimmer or mower... Do you really need to make that cut..? Is it not possible to avoid the chop altogether or to at least minimise the severity of the cut...? Or maybe you could leave a patch of wilderness within your space so that wildlife can coexist in your area?

Did you know? Dragonflies are major predators that eat mosquitoes, and other small insects like flies, bees, ants, wasps, and very rarely butterflies. They are usually found around marshes, lakes, ponds, streams, and wetlands because their larvae, known as "nymphs", are aquatic. About 5,900 different species of dragonflies (Odonata) are known in the world today of which about 3000 belong to the Anisoptera.
