Legio I Germanica, (lit. First Legion "Germanic"), was a legion of the Imperial Roman army, possibly founded in 48 BC by Julius Caesar.

The roman legion Legio I Germanica was establshed by Caesar himself. The legion emblem of this legion was the taurus. This legion was battle hardened and famous. Legio I Germanica, the 1st Germanic Legion, was a legion of the Imperial Roman army. The legion was possibly founded by Gaius Julius Caesar. The legion was disbanded in 70 AD by the Roman emperor Vespasian and merged into the Legio VII Gemina.

I was walking around the south spillway area of the Great Salt Plains State Park when I noticed a number of Irises. I crossed the parking area to get to the first one and saw that they were growing at a number of the campsites. Inspired by Moorcroft pottery, painted with watercolours after drawing outlines with wax to imitate the tube lining found on Moorcroft pottery. Watercolours on hot pressed Fabriano Artistico extra white paper.

My favourite bearded irises, but I have no idea what this particular variety is called, so they're known as the floozies since my friend first saw the flowers and said "that's not a flower, it's a floozy!" They remind me of can can dancers, with their frilled skirts and fancy headdresses. Watercolour on Fabriano Artistico extra white paper, the original work measures 15" x 22"

Wasps get bad press, a bad rep and a bad rap..! We hardly take a moment to sit and think about just how amazin' and talented these little creatures are and *'what they do for our ecosystem'* - that allows us to survive and flourish... Whilst in the field I spend time to sit and study wasps and see them go by their day to day activities and I noticed that this one wasp would keep coming back to the same woody spot... under closer examination it seemed to be that he would work around in a pattern and seemed to be foraging on the woody bark of the tree... At home doing some research it seemed that there seems to be ambiguity as to the essential role of wasps and from my observations - I am more inclined to believe that wasps do inde...
