He is considered the patron saint of amputees, animals, barren, boatmen, the elderly, pregnant women, fishermen, farmers, travelers and sailors; of horses and donkeys; of the poor and the oppressed; it is invoked to find lost things, to conceive children, to avoid shipwrecks and to obtain marriage.
