Cafe Racer Tapestries
Description: Schneider Motorradreparatur, or Schneider Motorcycle Repair in English, was a Stuttgart based garage specializing in high-performance motorcycle tuning and repair work. They provided parts and service for all makes and models during their 30-year run, though their specialty was café racers and all out track bikes. As an added bonus, if you couldn’t ride your bike in or were broken down somewhere, they would send out one of their two pickups to give you a lift.

Description: Zündapp (a.k.a. Zuendapp) was a major German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917 in Nuremberg by Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG and the machine tool manufacturer Thiel under the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau G.m.b.H." as a producer of detonators (Zünder- und Apparatebau is German for Igniter and Apparatus). In 1919, as the demand for weapons parts declined after World War I, Neumeyer became the sole proprietor of the company, and two years later he diversified into the construction of motorcycles. Advertisements of the day proclaimed that their motorcycles were "Motorrades fur jedermann," motorcycles for everyone, and they were right on the money as by 1938, Zündapp had produced more than 200,000 motorcycles.
Description: Triton motorcycles were not factory models but were hybrid bikes built in the 1960s and 1970s. Many were privately constructed but some London dealers offered complete bikes. The builders fitted Triumph engines into Norton frames, and the aim was to combine the best elements of each marque and thus gain a bike superior to either. Many Tritons were configured as single-seater café racers. The name 'Triton' is a contraction of Triumph and Norton; and 'Triton' was the name of a mythological Greek God.
Description: Matchless is one of the oldest marques of British motorcycles, manufactured in Plumstead, London, between 1899 and 1966. A wide range of models was produced under the Matchless name, ranging from small two-strokes to 750 cc four-stroke twins. Matchless had a long history of racing success; a Matchless ridden by Charlie Collier won the first single-cylinder race in the first Isle of Man TT in 1907. In 1938, Matchless and AJS became part of Associated Motorcycles (AMC), both companies producing models under their own marques. During the amalgamations that occurred in the British motorcycle industry in the 1960s, the Matchless four-stroke twin was replaced with the Norton twin, ending a long history of independent production by 1967.
