A few minutes later, the movie is still beginning while you are already completely disconnected from the plot. At least the selection process was thorough. The evening may not have included much entertainment, but it included a discussion about what to watch, followed by a demonstration of how quickly tiredness can change the plan.

The theater empties around you as you sit there, slightly stunned, wondering whether that brief flicker actually mattered or whether you just wasted your evening chasing essentially nothing.
