Damselfish Tapestries

Golden damselfish (Amblyglyphidodon aureus) in front of a sea fan, or gorgonian. The golden damselfish inhabits coral reefs in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It feeds mainly on small crustaceans, algae and plankton. A sea fan is a coral-like colony of tiny filter-feeding organisms. Photographed in the Andaman Sea, Thailand.

Virgo Mermaid: Slightly longer than average tail, with sharp and precise edges. Is a shade of royal blue, would blend in with surroundings, if not for their glimmer. Jewel Damselfish. (Part of a "Your Zodiac Mermaid" series.)

I went snorkeling at cane back in January 2022 and these are some of the things that I saw! This will make a great gift to someone who loves St. Croix.

This underwater photography shows an anemonefish (Amphiprion polymnus, Saddleback clownfish), that is very curious and asks the photographer Ute Niemann for a portrait. I like it very much to be able to photograph through the pupil of the fish - and of course, especially when they come so close to me! I took this underwatermotive in Raja Ampat in front of the Island Fam | West Papua | Indonesia.

I have taken this underwater motive during a dive in the beautiful underwaterworld of Raja Ampat | West Papua | Indonesia.

Branching out almost like a tree ~ this stunning backdrop of Gorgonian fan coral adds shelter from the drifting currents. Blue damsels dance amidst courting pairs of bluestriped sabretooth blennies and green 'moon' wrasse.
