The bright yellow foliage caught my attention and then this tree called out my name! It said, "Debra, don't stand way out there looking, come closer by my trunk and take a look up toward the sky!" So glad I listened to this beautiful, majestic tree!

Liberty Ship Memorial South Portland Maine by Debra Martz The memorial is in Bug Light Park, a scenic point of land overlooking Portland Harbor which was once home to a sprawling World War II Shipyard that covered 140 acres of land, including over 60 buildings, and could build up to 13 ships at one time. From 1941 through 1945, the South Portland Shipyards built 266 cargo vessels, 236 of which were Liberty Ships, contributing immeasurably to the Allied victory in World War II. Shiner Beer Guitar by Debra Martz Just one of the many types of neon lights and memoribilia on the walls of Arky Blue's Silver Dollar in Bandera, Texas. A hidden gem of a bar in the center of Bandera. How can it be hidden if it is in the center of town? Because it is only a door, a red door with Silver Dollar written on it, which is sandwiched between two storefronts. The door drew our curiosity, we opened it slowly and looked down some old wooden steps, looked at each other and upon my husbands urging, we went down those old stairs to find a very Honky Tonk, complete with a large dancefloor, stage for a band, jukebox, pool tables, pinball machines and a lot of old memorabilia covering the walls. Autumn Color and Reflections Moraine State Park of Pennsylvania by Debra Martz I spotted this beautiful scene along the North Shore Drive and forturnately there was a pullout close by allowing me the opportunity to stop for some photographs. Lake Arthur is within the state park and this was a small inlet of water by the main drive. Charlottetown Memorial Fountain PEACE Debra Martz I like how one lone leaf had fallen and landed just below PEACE so I kept the autumn color of it. The Prince Edward Island Service Memorial Fountain in Charlottetown is Canada's first memorial of its kind, honoring individuals in the armed forces, law enforcement, peacekeeping organizations, or firefighting services who risked their lives in the line of duty. Nature's Tapestry by Debra Martz Along the Riverwalk Trail in Zion National Park, one will find several areas where the lower canyon walls weep. They weep from dripping springs which in turn create gardens on the walls. After a heavy rain or during spring runoff, the canyon walls may be streaming with falling water. Some of Zion's waterfalls are spectacular but mostly ephemeral; some last only minutes. Yet their tracks remain visible. Due to desert minerals, the falls leave black streaks where the water evaporates. Those mineral "tapestries" can be seen in many areas of the park. Copyright Debra Martz 20180823-DSC_4387.N

After seeing it so many times before arriving at the Acropolis, I knew I had to get a photograph of it alone against the sky. Black Skimmer @Debra Martz I was standing on the end of a boardwalk that extends into the Laguna Madre watching a Reddish Egret when this Skimmer appeared. It made several circles in the area before moving on a little north. The strange, uneven bill of the skimmer has a purpose: the bird flies low, with the long lower mandible plowing the water, snapping the bill shut when it contacts a fish. Colorful Strands of Beads by Debra Martz I was outside walking around in my yard with my camera as I often do. Usually in search of a flower, insect or bird to photograph. As I walked back to the front door I noticed the light on the beads of my chime, zoomed in and shot upward toward an overcast sky. After viewing on my computer, I decided on a square format but was a little underwhelmed with the plan background. So I then decided to use one of my panning shots I take in nature and use it for an overlay.

Beyond The Treetops To The Blue Sky by Debra Martz ........................... The Big Tree Trail is one of several located within the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in south Texas. As you enter the trail, the first rustic sign reminds you to "Dust off your senses and enter a world of sights and sounds, Of smell and touch; a world of mighty oaks and delicate flowers, of brightly-colored birds,and shy animals.
