Detroit Kaiju Tapestries

Oegopsor is one strange sea-beast! Octopus? Squid? Shellfish? Elephant? Man-in-a-rubber-suit? We may never know... and that poor Boblo Boat, it has seen better days! This is the 5th Detroit Kaiju painting I did, now released on teepublic!

This painting was created to celebrate Detroit's 313th birthday (July 24th 2014), a very 'Muppet' influenced Numahnamahna! These three monsters have a very familiar '313' form and came to Detroit to party down! This is the 14th painting I did for my Detroit Kaiju series.

A tribute piece I did for a very special event here in Detroit put together by some good friends... we'll just say it's a Bizarre event indeed! One head... two tails!

An annual event here in Detroit at Eastern Market, known as Flower Day... suddenly the 'Death' Flower SHINOHANA arises! Only Shinohana doesn't really want to hurt anybody, just wants to enjoy the day, and can't help being so frightening! This is the 10th painting I created for my Detroit Kaiju series.

As seen on TV (Detroit Public Televisions 'Detroit Performs')! This monster from space was created as a special reference to my 'sugar skull' sculpture I created for the Dia de Los Muertos event at the Imperial in Ferndale MI in 2014. This painting was created for a START Gallery Detroit's Dog Rescue event a few years ago. It's based on our family dog Dora who is a sweetheart... can't you tell? Look at those eyes! Dorasaurus says.. 'Don't Get Me Started!' This is the 13th Detroit Kaiju painting I did, now released on teepublic!

Look, there he is! The One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Mover Surfer! This strange creature can't help himself, the People Mover is the perfect ride for him downtown! This is the 15th painting done for my Detroit Kaiju series.

The story goes.. a strange looking tentacled multi-eyed creature named Bulbozur, minding his own business on the dark side of the moon, and FWOOM!! He gets hit by some strange metal pod, and has no choice but to ZAP IT! Will this poor creature find peace? Will he follow the pod-transformed into space-weresolf MUNOKAM? Will this movie ever be made? Stay tuned... This is the 27th Detroit Kaiju painting I've done in the series.

Fa-la-la-la-laahh, Bahrumrah AAAAAHHHH!!! From a far away mysterious land, only appearing around 'The Holidays', a giant lizard like beast with many eyes, green and red scaly skin, whitish fur... it looks very much like a right jolly old elf from the North Pole! Not quite Santa Claus, not quite Krampus, it's BAHRUMRAH! Created for the 5th Annual 'Krampus Night' Holiday/Anti-Holiday Charity Event 'Krampus Night Detroit' held at The Tangent Gallery, this is the 25th painting done for my Detroit Kaiju series.

Everyone in the Detroit Area knows about the Giant Tire on I-94 just a stones throw from Detroit Metro Airport. It began life as a Ferris Wheel at the 1965 New York World's Fair, was later moved to Michigan and has had many retreads since then. Giant Monster Dadaysaur sees more, and it makes him hungry! This is the 18th Detroit Kaiju painting I did, now released on teepublic!

The story goes.. a secret mission to the dark side of the moon, where an unknown astronaut encounters a strange looking tentacled multi-eyed creature, and FWOOM!! He gets hit with some weird beam energy, and transforms into the Giant Space Werewolf MUNOKAM! Will the astronaut be saved? Will he find his alien foe, BULBOZUR? Will this movie ever be made? Stay tuned... This is the 26th Detroit Kaiju painting I've done in the series.

It's your friendly neighborhood... giant blue electric monster GUSTRALEK! Oh, don't worry, he's just hangin' out in da hood, saying 'Hello' to all who pass by.. or run by for that matter! This is the 4th painting I did in my Detroit Kaiju series.

This one's personal.. I am literally haunted by these things, ever consuming my life, they work to prevent me from creating! As always, I resist! Look Out! It's the punk-rock three-eyed bunny-like SAMULON! Based upon our very own bunny Sam, and created for 'The Dirtiest Most Bizarre Art Show That Is Not In The Alley Ever' event that happens now annually at 'The OLD MIAMI', one of the greatest bar/live music venues in Detroit! This painting is the 12th done in the Detroit Kaiju series.

It's Pig Monster BUTAPANK, Worm Monster WAMUBUR and Goat Monster YAGIZOR having a fine day down on the farm enjoying a good book! I created these strange Farm Monsters in hopes of bringing the fun of reading through freely available books in the Free Little Libraries!

The Owl-Bat-Tentacle monster Měngqín ermerging from Our Lady of the Rosary's Belfry at I-94 and Woodward in Detroit! I created this monstrosity for my wife who loves owls... and monsters!
