The Peter Hand Brewing Company was an American brewery established in 1891 by Prussian immigrant, Peter Hand, in Chicago, Illinois. The brewery continued to grow and though it was officially closed between 1920 and 1933 as a result of prohibition, the company survived and expanded several times. In 1965, an investor group purchased the brewery and renamed the company Meister Brau, intending to further expand and begin national distribution. The company spent heavily on marketing, particularly in their hometown of Chicago, and sponsored all the local sports teams, as well as a popular radio show. When the brewery closed in 1978, it was the last brewing company in Chicago.

In the beginning, Yamagata finds Shotaro Kaneda at Harukiya. Harukiya is a seedy, rundown bar. It is a frequent hangout of The Capsules. It is located just off the Eastern Express Highway in District 17. It is run by an unnamed bartender. After escaping from the military hospital a second time, Tetsuo arrives here to ask the barkeeper for drugs. The barkeeper light-heartedly points out that something is strange about him, but shrugs it off while mentioning that the drugs are costly. Shortly after, Kaisuke and Yamagata walk in to find the bar destroyed and the barkeeper dead, and Yamagata is killed by the unstable Tetsuo during a confrontation.

Not a whole lot of details on Chucks Diner & Billiards out there, but from what we've been able to uncover, it was a joint that somehow managed to walk the line between dive bar and family restaurant. This Huntsville, Alabama establishment was primarily a diner, serving up classic American diner food, but also had a full bar and pool hall, making it the perfect place to go get loaded with the fam and shoot some stick.

It was at the end of 1957 when Seattle finally got its own dedicated jazz club when Pete's Poop Deck opened their doors. Having taken up residence in a former tavern in Pioneer Square on what was then known as Skid Road – named for the greased logs that were laid to shoot timber off First Hill to Seattle’s waterfront mills – Pete's Poop Deck was the place to be for enthusiasts of modern jazz. This low-fi establishment with its dim lighting and apple crate seating quickly grew in popularity and was THE place to take in some jazz music. From local musicians to national touring acts, Pete's Poop Deck was open nightly and promised "carefully calculated confusion," something they delivered on throughout the '60s.

A tiki bar is a themed drinking establishment that serves elaborate cocktails, especially rum-based mixed drinks such as the Mai Tai and Zombie cocktails. Tiki bars are aesthetically defined by their tiki culture décor which is based upon a romanticized conception of tropical cultures, most commonly Polynesian. Some bars also incorporate general nautical themes or retro elements from the early atomic age

Originally a leather bar with an obvious western theme when it opened in 1974, this West Village gay bar eventually played host to a rather diverse crowd with campy drag shows in it's latter years up until it's closing in 2014. This design celebrates Boots & Saddle's earliest incarnation that would end up becoming a 40-year old icon of New York's diverse LGBT scene.

The Saddle Rack originally opened on August 13, 1976 as San Jose's only authentic country roadhouse. The Rack, as locals called it, quickly became known for country music, strong drinks, line-dancing, and Tex-Mex cuisine, which turned out to be a winning combination. This quirky joint's Southern-style hospitality was what kept locals coming back, but once they began booking live music, it became a premier country music nightspot that pulled people in from all over the Bay Area and beyond. Sitting on six and a half prime acres, the owner received an offer he couldn't refuse, and sold the property, leading to its closure in 2001. The Rack would return in 2003, reopening in an 18,000-square-foot former hot tub store in Fremont.

Harvelle’s Roadhouse, or simply the Roadhouse, was a bar owned and managed by Ellen and Jo Harvelle, and was named after Ellen’s deceased husband, Bill Harvelle. It was a frequent watering hole for many hunters, including Ash, who actually lived and worked out of the establishment. Unfortunately, the Roadhouse was destroyed in an attack by Azazel’s forces after Ash discovered the truth of the Devil’s Gate and its relation to Sam’s disappearance.In the “Road So Far” map distributed by the official Supernatural Magazine, it shows Harvelle’s Roadhouse as being located in central Nebraska.

Located in the heart of Dallas. Texas' Deep Ellum neighborhood, Drugstore Cowboy wore several hats and wore them all pretty darn well. Part coffee shop and part cocktail bar, they also played host to art shows and intimate concerts, all from within their low-fi digs.

Fort Lauderdale's The Button was owned by Gregg Newell, known locally simply as “Crazy Greg,” was there every night sporting his signature Hawaiian shirt and kookie propeller hat since its opening in 1970. Attached to a cheap hotel, this legendary spring break party spot was so wild, it was actually more than the city could handle at times. The Button hosted wet t-shirt, French kissing, and bikini contests, many of which resulted in fines and charges of promoting “lewd and lascivious” activity by the state as usually pushed the boundaries of both common decency and the law. The bar also routinely ran afoul of occupancy limits, a side effect of its extreme popularity. The Button closed in 1987 after mounting issues with the city.

Located in San Francisco's Castro District at 500 Castro Street, Harvey's was an iconic bar and restaurant that welcomed tourists and regulars alike for over a quarter-century. Occupying a space that originally housed The Elephant Walk gay bar, which first opened in 1974, Harvey's was steeped in history based on location alone. After a major fire gutted the building in 1988, The Elephant Walk required extensive work to get it back up and running, so they ended up closing down as a result. Named after gay politician and activist Harvey Milk, Harvey's took over the space in 1996, residing at the popular corner location until early 2023 when they closed up shop.

Jules Maes Saloon dates back to the early days of Seattle in 1888 when it originally opened its doors along what is now Airport Way. Customers consisted of mostly lumberjacks and fishermen as Georgetown was the city's industrial district with no shortage of working men wanting a stiff drink. The bar closed in 1920 when prohibition came around, but reopened several doors down in 1939 in the building affectionately known by locals as the “Brick Store” which had previously been home to the Georgetown Grocery Company.

The Old Waldorf was a live music venue located in San Francisco at 444 Battery St. on the second floor of a building in the Embarcadero Center. The famous club was built out of what was originally a Foster's Cafeteria restaurant, opening its doors in 1976. Despite the brick and glass venue's terrible acoustics, during its time, The Old Waldorf hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry across a wide variety of musical genres. Despite the venue's full event calendar and solid ticket sales, the owner's closed down The Old Waldorf in 1983 and reopened it as The Punch Line comedy club which still occupies the space today. This one is based on the second of only two shirt designs the club ever released which came out sometime in 1983
