The Bulls were one of the seven teams assured of playing the 1986 USFL season, which would have been played in the autumn. The Bulls had bought the football assets of the Denver Gold during the offseason and were to take on much of that team's staff, including head coach Mouse Davis. The USFL itself was pursuing a large antitrust lawsuit against the NFL at the time; when they failed to secure a sizable judgment against the older league, the USFL suspended operations and eventually folded.

Come to Emerald Isle on the Crystal Coast in North Carolina to enjoy the sand, surf, sun, and sea!

Fishing boats tied up in the South Harbour at Blyth in Northumberland, with seagulls looking for an easy meal from the morning's catch. There are also eider ducks in the water looking for whatever they can find.

Strong winds and rough seas at the beginning of February produced some spectacular sights as the waves crashed against the lighthouse on the end of the pier protecting the mouth of the River Blyth and the entrance to the Port of Blyth harbour in Northumberland. This is a re-work of an existing image providing a larger file size and it is also available in monochrome.

Theres nothing like waking up by the sea to the sounds of gulls is there?

St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North East coast of England. This black and white image was captured on a cold November morning as seagulls were hoping to catch their breakfast in the choppy waters of the North Sea. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible when the tide is low and the causeway is then no longer under water.

Brooklyn Bridge, New York City

Box Log Falls, in Lamington National Park and a short hike from O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat. It was so different to my previous visit, when it had so little water in it that it was two small parallel falls instead of this cascade. That meant the water was a lot higher too, so my feet got very wet in the process of finding this spot. Luckily they were already very wet from a number of other creek crossings so it didn't really matter!

The 2016 Tall Ships Regatta gathered at the Port of Blyth in Northumberland for the first time in its sixty years of existence. Each night there was a fireworks display over the river and this image has caught the silhouette of a ship against the background of the fireworks with a crew member standing in the rigging and blue spotlights lighting up the evening sky.

Seaton Sluice harbour in Northumberland is a tidal harbour for small craft and this image was shot at high tide on a calm sunny morning in March with the colourful daffodils in full bloom acting as a harbinger of spring.

The old wooden pier at Blyth in Northumberland just after sunrise on a cold December morning. The pier is popular with fishermen and the cold and early hour had not put off a small group of men trying their luck.

The small tidal harbour at Seaton Sluice in Northumberland is situated on the North East Coast of England. This image was captured on a bright morning in April under a blue cloudless blue sky which reflected on the calm waters of the Seaton Burn as it flowed into the North Sea at high tide while a mermaid was sitting on the harbour wall!
