Eastern Crimson Sunbird Tapestries

Just as the light breaks ~ a little "eastern crimson sunbird" sits on his early morning perch using 'the branch' to wipe his beak - after his insect breakfast.

The security bars of our windows ~ serve good purpose for this Eastern Crimson Sunbird as he sits on his "Crimson Throne". Many different species of sunbird frequent the 'one way' smoked glass windows surrounding the house ~ offering good photographic opportunity.

This little eastern crimson sunbird, has been teasing me for weeks around the neighbourhood, finally after much time traipsing around listening to his whistles and following him from tree to tree to try and photograph... finally, finally, I find out where he resides to preen himself and at what time...! The best capture I could manage given the location, lighting and limit in technology. I've just sold my better camera and await the arrival of another... We all know a good workman ~ should never blame his tools, and in this instance the tech hasn't let me down as much as the sensor and limited focal length restricts. Still as an art photograph and of such a 'flighty little blighter' ~ I'm reasonably happy with the results..! :-) ...
